Keys

This blog is very multi-dimensional and so are the ways it can be used.

You can use this blog to entertain yourself and keep track of some of our traveling adventures and that is cool. However, there are keys in this blog, which, if inserted into the doors of daily practice might give you entry where you might not have entered before. Consider if you are truly above those keys and believe you have got it already.
If you are clear that these keys are not for you, because you feel the keys you have in your pocket are enough and suit you just fine, that is  cool too.

Port Grimaud

We are currently in Port Grimaud, after having spend a simply delightful time with Maria Teresa in Valros, near Béziers.

The delightful time in continuing now. We have been invited by Olivier and his lovely girlfriend Albine and are currently guests at his house here in Port Grimaud. This town is also called Venice of France, because of its extensive canal system of which you can see a small part in the picture above.

My friend Neil would take one look at this area and say, yup, serious realm of the gods. We are directly at the yacht harbor; so this is what we see all around - yachts. If not yachts; then mazeratis and jags and ferraris. There is such a dream-like quality of leisure here, from my perspective it seems easy to completely send the soul into serious sleep time. But what a wonderful breeding ground for the ultimate experience of dissatisfaction, because; how bad can it get if you have it all and wake up in the morning to find yourself deeply dissatisfied and unhappy? This can be seen on many faces - the great disappointment in the face of success and success not delivering. We have everything; but not the access to one's soul...

Get Satisfaction

ONCE YOU HAVE FOUND THE WAY OF COMPASSION IN ACTION, YOU HAVE FOUND ACCESS TO DEEPEST SATISFACTION POSSIBLE. THE CAPACITY TO PUT A SMILE ON SOMEBODY'S FACE - YOU JUST CAN'T BEAT THAT.

The Dynamics of Meditation

With a few exceptions, most meditation techniques present you with a point or process of focusing. The basic and classical focus points are the chakras. The chakras are points in the body that represent gates into consciousness. These gates will open once a process of focusing on them is started.

Here is what will happen if your focus on the chakras bears fruit:

Initially, as one focuses, for example on the point between the eyes, one will not feel much. Very quickly it becomes clear that holding attention on any part of the body - or anything at all - is actually very difficult.

Let us say, in spite of the fact that we feel nothing, we do not give up. We continue to focus on the spot between the eyebrows. After some time the process of concetrating in the way will turn the seed-like point; initially not at all perceived, into expanding space of consciousness. This space can expand beyond the confines of your body in ways unimaginable.

Whereas consciousness is normally a tiny presence associated with the body, now the body becomes a tiny point within your consciousness. This is what happens when your chakra awakens.

Therefore we can say that an inactive, dormant chakra is infinite consciousness miniaturized and encapsulated into a tiny seed-like point in your body. An activating, awakening chakra is the seed of consciousness expanding again. It is consciousness remembering itself and in that rememberance recognizing its infinite nature that was not lost, merely veiled.

Practice: Visualize a + between your eyebrows. Focus on the center where the lines meet. You will find your attention wander. Bring it back, over and over again.

Do this for 30 minutes.

NOTE: Once the space actually opens, one will feel inclined to respond with shock and awe and drop the effort of concentration. Attempt to maintain concentration inspite of the surprise and the space expanding as long as possible.

Rennes-le-Chateau

The other day we saw Rennes-le-Chateau and the surrounding areas. You probably know how Rennes-le-Chateau acquired its fame.
One day, late 18th century, Father Sauniere was in his little church and discovered something in one of the pillars. To this day it is not clear what he found, but after that day, Father Sauniere displayed incredible wealth. He started constructing building in the village in a lavish fashion which would cost millions of todays euros or dollars. The presbytery was one of several building projects Saunière launched around the village. He renovated the interior and exterior of the local church, built a grand estate (the Villa Bethania) for himself, a promenade along the end of the village, and a tower on a local hill -- a personal library called the 'Tour Magdala' which resembles the Tower of David in Jerusalem, called the 'Migdal David'. (from wikipedia)

At one point, after his death, his housekeeper-lover was seen burning huge amounts of francs (at the time of conversion from old to new francs).
You can google Berenger Saunière for more info.

The town is astoundingly small and beautiful. It is on top of a hill and though not too high, the views are breathtaking and somehow the images are lingering with me.

With Maria Teresa in Béziers

We are close to Bézier for some rest and recreation. A nice break from weeks of rain in Paris. We are at the coast, very close to the Spanish border with our very dear friend Maria Teresa. Tomorrow we are starting our Black Madonna pilgrimage, which will take us to Limoux, 60 minutes from here. Possibly we may see some Black Madonnas also in Barcelona, which is only two hours away.

La Celle St. Cloud, Paris and Tokyo

With the internet becoming more sophisticated every day, it becomes easy to see where the readers of this blog are located. Most of them are in North America. But there are some very avid readers especially in La Celle St. Cloud, Paris and Tokyo. I am hopeful the information found here is inspiring.

This blog is designed to be a map in consciousness, and the entries aim at providing explanations for dimensions that are rather hidden in the first place and, once contacted, not necessarily easy to express.

If you use the search feature on top of the blog, you can key in special terms of your interest to assist you in finding related material. Meditation, Samadhi, Compassion will bring up quite a few entries, for example. Yoga, ego-mind also will get you in touch with pieces that I hope will be helpful, if not inspiring.

So, thank you for all your interest!

The Good, the Clear and the Masterly

We live in interesting times.

Across the planet we have some people who have powerful awakening experiences, but who have lived ordinary lives without any spiritual practice of any kind. (Their awakening may have been triggered by extraordinary high modalities of suffering.) While their experiences are precious and genuine, the fact that they arise as shifts in consciousness without any prior work or preparation - in this life - leaves the very same people without a map of "how to get there" ("there" actually being HereNow).

When asked, "did you do anything for it?" the reply is "Nope. I did nothing at all."

This causes them to promote the message that "there is nothing to do, no work to be done."

That is like saying there is nothing that needs to happen for the chicken to lay an egg. True, perhaps. But for the egg to produce a chicken, many things have to go right.

As there exists no map for such a being, they do not know to provide no map other than saying: "You are already it."

What we have in such a situation is awakening minus the masterly (and minus any type of past life recall that would reveal massive amounts of inner work having been done). Only the masterly has developed, over extremely long periods of time, the capacity to guide properly, step-by-step, with full knowledge of the complete list of all the hazards and disctractions possible along the journey.

The masterly will know to provide an astoundingly and detailed guidance necessary, and furthermore, will know how to engineer a climate wherein such experiences can happen to others.

It is an art and a science. It is most precious.

Universal Records: Meaningful to behold

Imagine for a moment that there is such a thing as Universal Records. In these records there is a file with your name on it. This file starts with your name, followed by one sentence that summarizes the influence you have brought to this planet.

If right now you yourself were to write a synopsis of your influence on this planet, how would this look like? Would you like that entry?

If you don't quite like the self-written synopsis of your life lived to this point, how would you have to change your life to like better your entry into the Universal Records?

There is such a thing as living one's life in a way that is existentially meaningful to behold. My personal quest is just that:

To live a life that is consequential in the way that the Universe looks upon my manifestations here on earth ... and nods and smiles in response.

Bastille Day

The only relationship one should have with the limitations in one's life, be they outer, inner or secret, is that of fierce and radical intolerance.

By the way, today is the 14th of July, Bastille Day. This is the day when the Bastille was stormed, in the year 1789, and all the prisoners were released.

So let us storm the limitations in our thinking, emotions and our outer life. Let us break the bars of everything that keeps us limited.

Mind and No-Mind

Identify and then delete from your mind all negative failure programs.

Acquire and install in your mind positive success programs.

Then leave lots of space to allow going beyond the mind altogether.

Top it all off with living a glorious life of wisdom and compassion in action.

The Continuation of Suffering in the Face of Huge Success

Last night, E.M., the famous movie star came into my dreamtime. He said that, even though he was now seriously wealthy, powerful and all, he was becoming more dissatisfied and depressed because many things were not going right any more and the things that did go right, he was bored with.

I responded by saying that while he worked very hard to expand the outer frame of his life and succeeded in that , he had not spent any time to also expand the frame of his inner life, the existential, spiritual frame. The huge disparity between the outer and inner frame had become the source of his suffering.

I said that the only solution was to begin expanding his inner frame now. He needed to initiate a process wherein he could see himself within the most expanded frame possible in relationship to the rest of the world.

There was no direct solution found in any "doing." There was only solution by expanding his being and the natural changes that would be self-arising. In that expansion, the causes of his suffering would spontaneously evaporate.

Then I continued to explain more practical details.

Reasons to hope

I just looked at my Le Monde pen and it said: “Des raisons d’espérer” – reasons to hope- and I thought that’s a great title for an article in my own newspaper, this blog you are reading at this very moment in time.

Hope is not a happening. It is a by-product of your conscious choice. Hope happens when you choose to focus on a persisting seedling breaking through the fresh soil. Hope arises when you pay attention to the birds singing in a full-on celebration mode in the middle of the chaos of a huge city. And there blossoms hope when you read about a powerful man electing to spend his money to uplift the quality of life on this planet.

There exists a beautiful Sufi story. Once there was a man who refused to see anything but beauty. No matter what the situation was, he found the positive aspect of it. This drove some people crazy. So they decided to find a situation that was clearly devoid of any redeeming qualities. They found the corpse of a dog that lay decaying in the streets. It was truly a horrible sight and stench.

They took him to the corpse and said, “Here, look at this. What is beautiful about this sight?”

The man did not hesitate for a second and immediately pointed to the dog’s teeth and said: ”Look at these teeth. They are shiny like pearls. Have you ever seen beautiful teeth like this?”

The story is magnificent. It demonstrates the difference between a positive and negative focus.

Of course, the common ego-mind structure will say that this represents the attitude of denial. That would be the CNN-type of thing to say.

The man simply understood this: If you choose to focus on what is beautiful, abundant and positive, you generate an electric-magnetic current that will draw to you still more positive life aspects. If you focus on the negative, you generate more negative experiences in your life.

This is the insight of the mystic, not the understanding of the common man.

Focus on what is positive in your life and observe the positive growing and expanding.

Train yourself to do this every day and every second of your life and witness an awe-inspiring magic unfold in your life, casually, like grass growing in spring rain.

Do it and enjoy your day.

Compassion In Action: An experiment

Try this. Once a month, buy a bag of groceries. Then, drive through town. You will find a person who might need that bag. Give it to him or her.

Do it once a month, for a year. If you wish to commit to this, send an email with YES to amamet1000@yahoo.com

Explore other ways of extending generosity in your life. DO IT --- and it will come back to you in 100 ways.

Money - The Final Frontier

Money is the final frontier of consciousness. Before a man is capable of sharing even a part of his money with another human being, a quantum shift has to take place. Since the ego-mind structure is usually in command, a revolutionary leap must happen for control to shift to the heart. Once this shift happens, it becomes possible for a man to utilize wealth power in compassionate ways.

The mind-ego structure, however, will fight to keep control. Therefore, to to get past its drive to retain control is a huge undertaking. Nevertheless, it can happen effortlessly, in a single moment that unfolds swift as lightning and brings deep insight into the Nature of All and the underlying connectedness of all living beings.

But often the Universe is compelled to finally provide the tool of suffering to awaken to this insight.

Money is the most powerful outer force on the planet. It will build or destroy entire countries, create an oasis in a desert, change despair into hope, and restore dignity where there was none. Hence the distribution of money needs to be included into the network of compassion in some fashion or other. Its power to alleviate suffering is immense.

It is the ability to utilise money as a vehicle for compassion that is part of the Noble Mind.

Super Consciousness

In my dreamtime last night I observed a man flying. He simply flew without any external means, as if gravity did not exist for him.

The people on the ground saw him and he said: “You can see this, yet you do not understand what you see, its unusualness, nor do you understand the ways of how to suspend gravity…”

This dream is meaningful in many ways.

The average consciousness is not able to truly grasp what it is looking at when interfacing with a significantly expanded state of consciousness. It can be face-to-face, but simultaneously not really seeing or comprehending.

Right now, at this very moment in time, there are beings on this planet of such utterly expanded consciousness and evolved intelligence, they compare to the average human consciousness in the way the latter would compare to a mouse, and I mean no offense to the mouse, which we know to be a much more peace-loving creature than many humans.

Such beings exist and their inner reality is of such amazing luminosity and clarity, it would boggle the mind.

Just for a moment, allow your imagination to roam free. Imagine the Great White Wizard came to you and touched you with his magic wand. Suddenly, the bubble of your consciousness was starting to expand, past your physical body, growing bigger than your room, your house, your town. It continued to expand, beyond the planet, beyond this star system … and further.

By now we have exhausted the capacity of even the wildest imagination.

And yet such experiences are within the range of human potential and possibility. In his “Autobiography of a Yogi,” Yogananda describes the experience of Cosmic Consciousness in similar ways.

However, once such experiences start for an individual, many complexities arise. For one, s/he begins to separate severely from the average human state of consciousness. Such experiences transport the individual into the realm of the existentially rare and precious, what I called in other writings the realm of significant cultivation. If this were a form of the materially rare and precious, we could say a person had turned billionaire.

And, how do most people respond to billionaires? They respond with envy and jealousy; because the heart and soul are usually last in line to be given opportunity to respond. The human mind/ego structure usually has first vote and will come in for swift judgment. As a general rule, it is incapable of being happy for somebody else.

However, in many ways the outer billionaire is much better off than the inner billionaire. The outer billionaire will buy an army of body guards, TV-stations and communication satellites that will collectively kick your butt to the other side of the planet if you behave with only the slightest disrespect.

The inner billionaire seldom comes equipped with these capacities. Therefore, they are often left vulnerable to ignorant blindness at best and malicious violence at worst.

Imagine, what would your reaction be if someone came before you and say: ”I experience galaxies within my being?”

What would you say?

Yet this is precisely what Yogananda experienced and many other mystics across time and space.

The response of the heart and soul would be … oh, yes, can you please show me how I could experience this too?

And the ego would say: “Put him into the psych ward and drug him!” Or, ”why bother, let us crucify him. He clearly does not belong to our tribe.”

Most psychiatrists, when presented with the experiences of the mystics would in all seriousness suggest the former. And the latter occurred with sad and shocking historical regularity.

In my dreams last night I also saw that there was a very small number of people in current-day mental asylums that had powerful mystic experiences, but were not in a position of strength and power to shield themselves from the ignorance and violence of the mass mind.

Even in so-called spiritual circles very few people will be happy for you if you have experienced powerful explosions of consciousness, simply because the principle of ego-based competition exists perfectly well in the realm of spiritual activities.

Therefore, as a matter of self-protection, it is best to be quiet about such experiences. For example, don’t write about them in your blog …((((laughter)))

Some time ago a woman suggested to me, since I had an “interest” in Samadhi, to go to such and such site for my education… I response, I sent her to my own site with articles I had written about my Samadhi experiences, which has started in my life when I was 20. This was the last time that I heard from her. My information was not processed by the heart, but by the competing ego-structure.

Yes, isolation arises in a most peculiar way in the wake of experiences of powerful expansion of consciousness. And the deeper and higher the individual evolves, the more pronounced will the isolation become. As I said in one of my writings before, “What separates a Buddha from mankind is her complete oneness with it.”

”The truth that can be expressed is not the truth,” said Lao Tzu. Someone else said: “I am the Tathagata, the perfectly enlightened one.”

So, shall we accuse the latter of being deluded for saying this? Well, it was Shakyamuni Buddha who said this and indeed he was accused of this many times.

Could it be there are times when a person says something and it is actually just factual?

Everything that we hear, can be subjected to the test of truth. Simply remind yourself to ask deep within, “What degree of falsehood or truth am I facing?” You are invited to practice this with today’s writing.

Enjoy your day.
