Cherry Blossom

Yesterday was the peak of the cherry blossom. To be in the middle of this explosion of cherry blossom is rather an experience. It truly is a very uplifting experience that affects the heart, seeks to touch and open it. Sunday morning we went to the Meguro river close to where we are staying. It is completely lined with cherry trees. As it was morning, not many people were there. It was just lovely.(The above picture is from the Meguro river.)

In the afternoon, the same place had turned into one big party. Every tree was a party tent, people had their blankets out, brought food and, let us not forget, brought sake too. Tokyo, and the rest of Japan I would assume, was partying under the cherry trees.
