Live by remembering death

To remember death was an important part of Gurdjieff's Work. He said that in a better world, human beings would remember the possibility of death every day. He stated that it is a kind of miracle that human beings seem to be oblivious that death can happen any moment.

Indeed, to remember the possibility of death seems to create a shift in one's priorities and the choices of actions we could take. To remember death puts things into perspective.

What would I do if I had only 24 hours to live? What would I do differently? What would I not do? Life would become a lot more essential immediately, one would not tolerate one's own energy getting wasted, nor would one allow others to waste one's own energy with the inconsequential and the glamorous.

So, if you have a book to write, a song to sing or love to express ... start today.
