The 1001 ways of the shadow

It is most difficult to connect with the Divine, since initially it is intangible.

However, if you also cultivate the practice of tracking and eliminating the shadow and its various expressions in your life, the Divine will reveal itself as a byproduct. Most people who engage in some mode of spirituality or religion are unwilling to do this, because it is a potentially unpleasant and painful process. Compare it to removing a boil from your body just with a knife and without anesthesia.

Therefore we prefer to say the shadow –our shadow- is not there and it continues to influence our lives unchecked and unhindered. Unconscious behavior continues. This turns into a painful satire of cosmic proportions if this unconscious behavior is justified in the name of spirituality or religion.
